This fresco's images are telling the story of the main events surrounding the rich history of Lévis and its illustrious characters under the Passage theme: passage of time, passage of seasons, passage of wood, Côte du passage.
The Atelier de L'Émérillon artists – a community of artists from Quebec City and Lévis consisting of Marius Dubois, Pierre Laforest, Pierre Lussier, and Jean-Claude Légaré – have painted this fresco directly on the wall, in only seven weeks. This vast site required over six months of preparatory work in a shop. The research and painting as regards the various fresco characters were inspired by live models who agreed to pose for each portrait. Over 200 traced designs were made and installed by the muralists, a record for a Quebec fresco.
This 470m2 fresco was inaugurated on October 6, 2006 and is falling within the Commission de la Capitale Nationale's fresco making program in the Québec City and Lévis boroughs.
