Maison Alphonse-Desjardins - Société historique Alphonse-Desjardins

In 1882, Alphonse and Dorimène Desjardins built a house where they would raise their ten children and where they started operating the Caisse populaire de Lévis (Lévis Credit Union) in 1900.

Today, this site is a cultural property classified as a historical monument as well as a recognized museum. A reenactment lets you discover its fascinating history and, in the adjoining house, a permanent exhibit helps you relive the origins of the largest cooperative financial group in Canada.  Services offered:
° Guided tour
° Permanent exhibit
° Educational activity program for young people
° Advisory service on the Desjardins Group's heritage and history
° Store (sale of historical publications and souvenirs)

  • Regroupement des institutions muséales de la Chaudière-Appalaches (RIMCA)
